While they may not be the only subscribers of these periodicals, women undoubtedly account for the bulk of the readership.

What are some common themes? Well, many of them are similar to men's magazines, except, of course, for women. They focus on family life, careers, fitness and health. Then, of course, there are specialty magazines that concern themselves with issues that are obviously effeminate. For example, there are many publications that focus on weddings, dresses, fashion and style.

Though they are popular all over the world, in this article we are going to take a look at some of the most successful women's magazines in Australia.

Queensland Brides Magazine has been one of Australia's most trusted bridal periodicals for over twenty years now. In each issue, brides to be will find helpful hints and expert advice on how to plan the wedding of their dreams. Popular features include reports on all the latest fashions and trends in the designer bridal gown market. Readers will learn everything they need to know to take them from their bridal shower to their honeymoon.

In Style Magazine is one of the most popular style and fashion magazines down under. In each issue top fashion writers and experienced professions examine all of the latest trends in celebrity couture. The magazine also features exclusive interviews with both local and international celebrities. The focus of these interviews is often on fashion, health, and beauty.

Though it might sound a bit overly specific, Modern Wedding Cakes Magazine focuses on one of the most important and expensive items in the wedding, the cake. Each issue offers readers advice that will help them select the best contemporary wedding cake at a price that won't give them sticker shock.

Girlfriend Magazine caters to younger women, mostly in their early twenties and late teens. The magazine provides readers with expert advice on fashion, beauty, boys/men and to a lesser extent, careers. It is filed to the brim with celebrity gossip, interviews and real girl stories. All in all, Girlfriend is a funny, light and informative magazine that can be found on newsstands all over in Australia.

Women's Health Magazine is a new magazine that offers Aussie women advice on how to be healthy, active, happy and fit. Each issue includes sections on health, diet and fitness, as well as love and relationships. There are also special features and interviews with successful women all over the world. So, just because the word "Health" is in the tile, does not mean the magazine focuses exclusively on health and fitness. It seems to us that the word health does not just pertain to the body, but rather is used holistically to apply to the overall health of an individual. That means not only having a healthy body, but also having health relationships and recreational pursuits.

Read More : http://ezinearticles.com/?Top-Selling-Womens-Magazines-in-Australia&id=3433432

Womens Fitness Magazines - Aren't They All Crap

Every magazine rack you look at contains a variety of fitness magazines with super-fit models on its cover.

You may be wondering why there are so many different titles and what each one has to offer.

Before we discuss different titles perhaps we should discuss what people are looking for in fitness magazines. Essentially there are only two things that people are looking for when reading fitness magazines:

1) Information: This could be in the form of advice from fitness experts, latest research findings, exercise techniques and more. 2) Motivation: Some of us motivate ourselves by seeking out muscular physiques that we admire (like those of the fitness models in the magazine). While others read motivational articles of how individuals from all walks of life overcame adversity and achieved their goals. Most magazines understand this and give a healthy dose of both.

Now comes the hard part - figuring out which one is right for you.

Do you want advice tailored to your men or women? Do you want more information or more motivation? Do you want the magazine to focus around cardiovascular or resistance training - maybe both ?

Once you have taken an inventory of what your needs are you will be able to narrow down to a few choices.

Here are some popular magazines along with their area of specialty:

* Fitness - focuses on 'total well-being', a balance between mind, body & spirit. * Flex - considered bodybuilding's biggest and most informative magazine * Shape - real life tools you need to enjoy glowing health and vitality *Self - For women who care about body and the mind Muscle & Fitness - strengthening and building the body *Prevention - probably the most popular health-related magazine with the latest information on weight loss, nutrition and illness prevention. * Weight Watchers - recipes, tips, tools, and advice on weight loss and living a healthy lifestyle * Natural Health - Foods that heal. Herbs, vitamins, home remedies, recipes. prevention, self-care. * Yoga Journal - everything about the world of yoga.

Besides the above there are others such as womens health magazines, mens fitness magazine, men's health magazine.

Read More : http://ezinearticles.com/?Womens-Fitness-Magazines---Arent-They-All-Crap&id=384028

Acupuncture Can Effectively Treat Many Women's Health Issues

Acupuncture is a natural, drug free treatment option that is increasingly popular in the Western world. In the West, it is primarily associated with pain relief. However, it is often used to treat a wide range of other health conditions. One of the areas where it has been shown to be effective is in women's health concerns.

Acupuncture is a practice that involves the insertion of very fine, sterile needles into the body at certain points. This is a holistic treatment, meant to treat the body as a whole organism rather than isolating separate parts. From a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, acupuncture works by restoring the balance of yin and yang in the body, and enhancing or correcting the flow of Qi (energy) by removing blockages that can cause all kinds of pain and illnesses, including many problems specific to women's health.

Many practitioners of this ancient art as well as their patients claim that these treatments can successfully reduce or alleviate problems such as irregular or heavy periods, menstrual cramps, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), uterine fibroids, and even problems like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis and other infertility issues. Acupuncturists utilize techniques that are thought to help regulate the ovarian cycle, stimulate egg production, improve the balance of hormones and even increase blood flow to the womb.

A German study published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2008 showed that the majority of women who had acupuncture for menstrual cramps, discomfort and pain saw at least a 33 percent reduction in their pain level as compared to women who received no treatment. In addition, a Danish study found that women receiving acupuncture had a significantly higher rate of pregnancy versus a control group who did not receive this treatment.

Many more general studies have shown that acupuncture stimulates the body to produce natural steroids and release endorphins, which help to reduce inflammation and pain. All practitioners agree that their techniques enhance the mind and body's own ability to heal itself, and women's issues are no exception to the rule.

Practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine often use herbs as well as dietary, exercise and lifestyle advice in conjunction with acupuncture treatments to obtain better results. Also, it is not uncommon for acupuncture to be successfully used as a complementary therapy along with more "mainstream" fertility and women's health care options. In fact, some acupuncturists have extensive schooling in both Western medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine, which can help them better integrate different types of care for maximum efficacy.

Read More : http://ezinearticles.com/?Acupuncture-Can-Effectively-Treat-Many-Womens-Health-Issues&id=3849725

Women's healthcare in the People's Republic of China

Best Web Design Services : If you're looking for affordable web design services, GetAFreelancer.com is the answer! In the Cultural Revolution, the People’s Republic of China began implementing women’s health care policy. It is individualistic in each case but most people follow the one child policy. In some instances the male or female would be sterilized, or more commonly abortion was recommended (Wegman, 222). Healthcare was something that women workers are entitled too. It was required that every female worker in China receives urinalysis and systematic vaginal examinations every year (Wegman, 222).

Ford Prices

Vintage Cigars

National Women's Health Network

The National Women's Health Network (NWHN) is a non-profit women's health advocacy organization located in Washington, D.C.. It was founded in 1975 by Barbara Seaman, Alice Wolfson, Belita Cowan, Mary Howell, M.D., and Phyllis Chesler, Ph.D. The stated mission of the organization is to give women a greater voice within the healthcare system. NWHN is financially supported by 8,000 members, while specifically denying contributions from the tobacco and medical industries.
